Bob

Peanut in Bob I got Bob the ficus tree shortly after I got Peanut. It was part of the spoiling process. But it turns out Peanut never liked Bob too much. I've put toys in the tree, and snacks, but for the most part, if I manage to get Peanut to stand on Bob, he'll only stay there long enough to fly home. But today, he flew from the office, into the living room, and got a little stuck in Bob. Click here for a close up of Peanut in Bob.

I've been meaning to run out and buy a safe tree for my parrotlet Nemo, too, but keep putting it off. I hope he'll like it more than Peanut did with his (if I ever get around to it)!

P.S. I'm so sorry about what happened to Peanut :( They are so small, but they take up such a big spot in our hearts.

Kathy, in fact, ficus trees aren't safe for birds if they chew a lot. You may have noticed when you break a leaf off, or break off a live branch, that a white liquid oozes out. This liquid has been found to be a skin irritant for different kinds of creatures. So if Nemo is a big chewer, then you shouldn't let him spend time on a ficus tree. I didn't know this when I got Peanut. Lucky for us, he didn't like Bob much, and didn't chew the tree when he was in it.

Thanks for your kind words about Peanut. It is amazing, isn't it, how such tiny creatures can become so important?
